Public Notice: Essential Health Advisories and Community Engagement Schedule

Official City Notice: NSW Health Measles Alert

NSW Health has issued a high-priority health advisory for residents across Western Sydney following the notification of a confirmed case of measles. As of Friday, 6 March 2026, health officials are urging the community to remain vigilant for symptoms as the source of the infection remains unknown, suggesting active community transmission. Residents who visited healthcare facilities or public spaces in Western Sydney over the past week should monitor for the following indicators:

  • Fever, sore eyes, and a cough.
  • A runny nose followed by a red, blotchy rash starting on the head and spreading to the body.

NSW Health emphasizes that the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine is the most effective protection and is available free of charge for children and adults born after 1965 who have not received two doses. Anyone experiencing symptoms is advised to call their GP or emergency department in advance to ensure they are isolated upon arrival.
