Public Health Advisory: Measles Alert

NSW Health has issued an urgent public health advisory following the confirmation of new measles cases in the Sydney metropolitan area as of 14 March 2026. Health officials are urging residents to remain vigilant for symptoms, which include fever, sore eyes, and a cough, followed by a red, blotchy rash. Specific exposure locations identified include:

• Coles at Winston Hills Mall: Friday, 13 March, between 3:20 pm and 4:00 pm.
• St Vincent’s Hospital Emergency Department: Friday, 13 March, between 11:20 am and 7:00 pm.

Those who were at these locations during the specified times should monitor for symptoms until 30 March 2026. Anyone experiencing symptoms is advised to call their GP or emergency department ahead of arrival to prevent further transmission.

Transport and Infrastructure Updates

Transport for NSW has announced significant disruptions and adjustments for Monday, 16 March 2026. Commuters and motorists should prepare for the following changes:

• Great Western Highway Closure: The highway at Victoria Pass remains closed in both directions due to structural cracks found in the historic Convict Bridge.
