- Sydney Metro Testing: Essential testing for the Sydenham to Bankstown extension continues tonight. From 9:50pm, no metro services will run between Central and Sydenham. Passengers are advised to use existing rail services between these stations. Metro services will continue to operate as usual between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central.
- Hornsby to Gosford Maintenance: Sydney Trains is completing a major maintenance block between Hornsby and Gosford. Work concludes tonight, Wednesday, 1 April, with active crews on-site from 10:00pm until 3:30am. Residents near the rail corridor are advised that these works may involve noisy activities, including track resurfacing and the use of diesel work trains.
- F10 Blackwattle Bay Ferry: Residents in the Pyrmont and Barangaroo areas are reminded that the F10 Blackwattle Bay Ferry route has officially joined the Opal network as of this week. Passengers can now use their Opal cards or contactless payment methods for travel between Blackwattle Bay, Pirrama Park, and Barangaroo.
Health Advisories: 2026 Influenza Program and Safety Campaigns
NSW Health has launched two major public health initiatives effective as of 1 April 2026. These programs focus on preventative care and seasonal safety across the Greater Sydney region.
- 2026 Flu Vaccination Rollout: The statewide influenza vaccination program begins today. Under the National Immunisation Program, free vaccines are available to eligible groups, including children under five, pregnant women, and those aged 65 and over. This year’s campaign, titled ‘Let’s Talk About Falls,’ encourages families and healthcare providers to engage in open conversations with older residents about mobility safety.
