To facilitate essential upgrade works, temporary lane and ramp closures will be implemented in both directions from 10:00 PM on Thursday, 2 April, until 9:00 AM on Monday, 6 April 2026. Drivers should expect heavy queuing and delays throughout the weekend. It is recommended to plan journeys in advance or consider using public transport to avoid the North Sydney and Neutral Bay pinch points.

With large crowds expected daily until 13 April, attendees are encouraged to utilize the integrated public transport options included with their event tickets. This year, the needle-free intranasal influenza vaccine is also available for children aged two to five years. Residents are urged to book appointments with their GP or pharmacist to ensure protection ahead of the winter season.
Urgent Road Alert: Great Western Highway (Victoria Pass)
The Great Western Highway remains closed to all traffic in both directions at Victoria Pass due to critical structural repairs. Following the discovery of instability in the road surface, Transport for NSW has confirmed the closure will remain in place for at least three months. Detours are currently active via the Darling Causeway and Chifley Road. A $50 million government commitment has been designated to strengthen these detour routes, but travelers to the Central West should expect significant additional travel time.
Transit Reminder: M1 Metro Line Testing Shutdown
Commuters are reminded that the M1 Metro Line will close for major technical testing beginning at 1:20 AM tomorrow, Friday, 3 April. Normal services are expected to resume by 4:00 AM on Tuesday, 7 April.
