Public Health Advisory: Measles Alert Expansion

NSW Health has issued an updated public health alert following the confirmation of additional measles cases across Greater Sydney. Health officials are particularly concerned regarding potential exposure on international arrivals. Passengers who traveled on Cebu Pacific Flight CEB39 / 5J39 from Manila to Sydney International Airport, arriving on Sunday, 15 February 2026, are urged to monitor for symptoms.

Symptoms of measles include fever, sore eyes, and a cough, typically followed by a red, blotchy rash. Residents who attended the Granville Swim Centre or St Patrick’s Cathedral in Parramatta earlier this month should also remain vigilant. If symptoms develop, please call your GP or local emergency department ahead of arrival to ensure appropriate infection control measures are in place.

Transport and Infrastructure Works

Transport for NSW and local authorities have scheduled the following service changes for Sunday, 15 February:

  • Regional Rail: Coaches will replace the 07:31 Griffith to Sydney train service for the duration of the journey. Passengers should allow for additional travel time.
  • Pitt Town Bypass: Scheduled roadworks begin today, 15 February, on Glebe Road (between Pitt Town Road and Old Stock Route Road) and Cattai Road. Expect localized diversions and intermittent lane closures through 26 February.
  • Haymarket Road Openings: Temporary road closures associated with the Sydney Lunar Streets event are scheduled to conclude at 1:00 am on Sunday. Standard traffic flow is expected to resume thereafter, though motorists should remain alert for cleaning crews in the area.

Community Notice: Victoria Park Operations

The City of Sydney advises that Mardi Gras Fair Day will take place at Victoria Park today, Sunday, 15 February 2026. While the event is free to the public, residents should anticipate significant crowds and limited parking in the Camperdown and Chippendale areas. Localized traffic management will be in place around City Road and Cleveland Street to facilitate pedestrian safety.

Utility and Water Services

WaterNSW has notified residents of a continued unplanned raw water outage affecting the Fish River pipeline. The disruption impacts customers between Duckamloi and Rydal and is expected to persist until 17 February 2026 while emergency repairs are completed. Affected residents are reminded that raw water is not suitable for human consumption. Meanwhile, Sydney’s total water storage remains stable at 94% capacity.
