NSW Health has issued a high-priority health advisory following the confirmation of 14 measles cases across the state since early January. As of Friday, 13 February 2026, health officials are urging the public to remain vigilant for symptoms, which include fever, sore eyes, and a cough, followed by a red, blotchy rash. Exposure sites have been identified in northern, south-eastern, and south-western Sydney. Residents who have visited healthcare facilities or public transport hubs in these regions are advised to monitor their health for up to 18 days. Service Interruption: Local Council Maintenance Delays

Residents in the Blacktown City Council area may experience continued disruptions to public services this weekend following recent industrial action. Impacted services include park mowing, street cleaning, and scheduled waste collections. While the Council expects to catch up on red and green bin collections over the weekend, residents are asked to leave missed bins at the kerb until collected. Maintenance of local ovals and splash parks at Nurragingy Reserve may also be limited until full staffing levels resume on Monday.
